Thomas Jefferson University, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and Temple University are happy to announce 2026 TRiMAD in Philadelphia, PA. Since 2011, TRiMAD has brought together trainees and faculty doing exciting mitochondria research primarily in the PA-NY-OH-MI region.

  • Abstract submission remains open until October 14th. Only registered attendees for TRiMAD are able to submit abstracts.

The MitoCare Center, led by György Hajnóczky, MD, PhD, features a distinctive program centered on mitochondria in health and disease. Center for Mitochondrial and Epigenomic Medicine, CHOP

CHOP is home to the Center for Mitochondrial and Epigenomic Medicine, led by  Doug Wallace, PhD, and the clinical Mitochondrial Medicine Program. Together, these span foundational and translational research, human genetics, advanced diagnostics, and multidisciplinary clinical care, making CHOP an international leader in mitochondrial medicine and research, including the identification of novel gene variants.

Aging + Cardiovascular Discovery Center (ACDC), Temple University

Mitochondrial research is strongly represented through the Aging + Cardiovascular Discovery Center (ACDC), led by John Elrod, PhD, at Temple University. ACDC brings together investigators studying the mechanisms of aging-associated and cardiovascular disease, with mitochondrial biology serving as a major theme across discovery and translational efforts.
